Vineyards and Winemaking
Gus was born and raised in Mount Gambier, South Australia's coolest maritime wine region. The unique combination of warm windy summers, cold nights and rich, fertile soil here is just the ticket for this delicious hand-picked wine.

The limestone soils are stony and free draining full of flint pebbles. The 10-year-old vines are pruned to be in balance and the fruit is machine harvested and completely destemmed before being fermented with carefully selected yeast.

After Pressing the wine is transferred to 30% new French oak and allowed to mature for 1 year.

During maturation, the barrels were regularly tasted until the right balance was achieved (twelve months). During this time in oak, the young wine completed malolactic fermentation. The wine was then carefully extracted from oak, blended and prepared for bottling.

A highly fragrant and expressive Pinot Noir, showing proud mature notes of cherry, violet and dried herbs interlaced with floral notes. The palate is structured and savoury, unveiling a serious Pinot Noir that has had time to mature and develop elegance, showing silky supple tannins and a lengthy finish.
